EMC was established to carry out researches, consultations and experiments of electromagnetic compatibility on electric and electronic devices used in industries, science, medical, and military.

This centre does not only help reduce experimental costs on failed experimental products, but also facilitates the development and productivity of certain companies and organisations. The centre also offers services such as consultations and restoration of ineffective products.

EMC is the first centre of excellence established in UTHM and still leading in the field of EMC, besides SIRIM. In fact, the facilities provided in the centre is one of the best compared to other universities in the region. The centre has grown tremendously and has been widely recognised locally as well as overseas.
