INTRODUCTION

Information Technology Centre started its operation in December 1994. The Centre is responsible in managing information-communication technology (ICT) related matters for the University. They include software, hardware and infrastructure management, and also future planning for ICT development. The services provided by the centre are not only for the University community, but also for the local community and surrounding schools.

The Centre gives excellent services to staff and students. This is achieved through the use of on-line applications that best connect the community.

The University has its internet connection from Jaring and TMNet, both through cables and wireless network. At present, all residential colleges in and off campus enjoy the network facility, in addition to computer labs which are accessible to all staff and students.

Determined to lead in the most recent information and communication technology to realise the aim, vision and mission of UTHM.

MISSION

To develoap infrastructure and improve the use of ICT by :

• Providing efficient networking system
• Providing ICT-based teaching and learning facilities
• Conducting research and continuons development of application system
• Creating e-university environment
• Encouraging the use of ICT through courses and trainings
