UTHM signed a Memorandum of Agreement with aircraft maintenance training provider, MATA. The MOA is a continuity of various meetings and discussions that have been conducted in advance between the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing (FKMP) through its Department of Aeronautical Engineering, JKA and MATA since 2016.

With the memorandum of agreement, MATA officially became UTHM industrial partner, specifically to the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, particularly in the implementation of programs and activities that will benefit both sides. Apart from that, the agreement between UTHM and Malaysian Aviation Training Academy would make it possible for the university to collaborate in term of aircraft maintenance license training for students and staffs.
