The Chairman of UTHM Board of Directors Celebrated in a
"Jasamu Dikenang" Dinner
Kota Kinabalu : The Chairman of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Ir. Shamsuddin bin Abdul Kadir, was celebrated in a "Jasamu Dikenang" dinner at Sutera Harbour Resort recently. The ceremony was specially organized to show our appreciation for his support and contributions throughout his 8 years with us as the Chairman of UTHM Board of Directors. He was appointed to be the Chairman since 2001 until 15 April 2009. Also present at the dinner were Puan Sri Mariam Parineh, Dato' Mohd. Nadzmi bin Mohd. Salleh, Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd. Noh Dalimin, the Vice-Chancellor of UTHM and wife, Prof. Dato' Dr. Haji Ismail bin Haji Bakar, the former Vice-Chancellor of UTHM, and wife, Encik Abd. Shukor bin Ibrahim, Prof. Ismail bin Hassan, the former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs) of UTHM, UTHM Senior Officers and the Alumni representatives for Sabah sector.
In the ceremony, Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohd. Noh Dalimin took the opportunity to thank Tan Sri for all the devotion and dedication he has been giving us in UTHM. With him as the Chairman, UTHM has been moving a step further in excellence and success in various competitions in the administrative field as well as in research and innovation, sports, arts and culture.
In his final speech, Tan Sri stated that he has been fortunate and blessed to contribute some advice and guidance and share the experiences that he has in making sure that UTHM has a smooth administrative management. He also expressed his gratitude to UTHM for all the cooperation given to him when he was the Chairman and hoped that UTHM will be more successful and will have the potential to be one of the best universities in Malaysia.
Prior to the dinner, members of UTHM Board of Directors and UTHM Senior Officers had a friendship golf tournament at Sutera Harbour Golf Club, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Such activity was not only testing their skills in golf, but also strengthening the relationships among them.
Tan Sri and the representatives of UTHM Board of Directors together with UTHM Senior Officers had also arranged a meeting with Tuan Yang Terutama Sabah, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Ahmadshah bin Abdullah before leaving for Kuala Lumpur.
