INTRODUCTION

The establishment of Centre for Diploma Studies (PPD) has been officiated immediately after the Senate's and University's Board of Directors approval dated 4 November and 12 November 2009 respectively. PPD is headed by the Dean, Professor Hj. Ab. Aziz bin Abdul Latiff, supported by a Deputy Dean and five (5) Heads of Departments. Establishment of PPD as a centre in UTHM will act as catalyst to strengthen and elevate the level of the diploma programmes offered at UTHM. PPD's inception into the main stream centre of academic excellence will provide higher recognition to all diploma programmes as a competitive programmes as not regarded as second class. The main intention of PPD establishment is to open the opportunities and provide platform for the students to engaged into further studies. The students would be able to enroll into the relevant degree programmes in UTHM or other Institutions of Higher Learning upon graduation. This is in line with the aspiration of the nation in generating first class workforce in the years to come.
