BATU PAHAT. 3 November - Fifteen UTHM staff will make their Haj pilgrimage in Baitullah al-Haram Makkah this year. To pray for their well being, the Public Relations Unit, Islamic Centre and Welfare Bureau, KuiTTHO Staff Club (KSKUiTTHO) had organized a doa selamat ceremony on 3rd November 2009 at Masjid Jamek UTHM.

The ceremony begun with congregational Maghrib prayers followed by Yassin recitation led by Ustaz Mohd Shahrir bin Abdul Mutalib, along with a tazkirah (a brief sermon) related to Haj pilgrimage by Ustaz Hj. Baharudin b. Yaman from UTHM Islamic Centre.

UTHM Vice Chancellor, YBhg. Profesor. Dato'. Dr. Mohd Noh Dalimin and wife, Profesor Datin Dr. Maryati Mohamed, several senior officers and future UTHM Haj pilgrims attended the ceremony.  After the congregational Isya' prayers and dinner, UTHM Vice Chancellor along with his entourage visited the homes of several Haj pilgrims.

This visit was continued the following nights depending on the suitability of time and availability of the hosts. In each visit, a simple doa selamat was held followed by souvenir giving by the Vice chancellor.

The visit also gave a chance for the Vice Chancellor and his entourage to exchange pleasantries and information especially on Haj pilgrimage, while at the same time gave moral support to the future pilgrims to be more patient and persevering throughout their journey in completing their Haj pilgrimages.
