Introduction
Starting with 300 recruits, Siswa Siswi Pertahanan Awam (SISPA) was established in June 2010 as one of the co-curricular activities in UTHM. In accordance to the university policy, the establishment of the uniform body courses is designed to incorporate soft skills among students. Therefore, the inculcation of soft skills among the recruits of SISPA will be of two prongs; to produce outstanding human capital, and to develop their knowledge, understanding, values and skills, in addition to the emphasis on excellent academic achievement. SISPA also aimed to train recruits with team working skills, to establish self confidence and to instill values and love towards Malaysia.
Recruits will be trained by professional trainers and officers from Jabatan Pertahanan Awam to help developed their skills.
OBJECTIVE
The objectives of establishing Kor Suksis are as follows:
- To provide exposure to the professionals on the importance of disaster management.
- To increase student involvement in volunteering,
- To instill the values of personal responsibility and love for Malaysia.
